Health District (CHD) is seeking a Health Educator Senior to lead
and coordinate health education and health promotion initiatives
within the Population Health Department. This position provides
strategic direction for community based health education efforts,
oversees program implementation, and supervises Health Educators
and related staff. The Health Educator Senior builds and maintains
strong partnerships with community based organizations (CBOs),
service providers, and residents to advance equitable health
outcomes. Working collaboratively with community stakeholders, the
Health Educator Senior, ensures that programs are culturally
responsive, community informed, and aligned with public health best
practices. The role focuses on strengthening trust; improving
access to services; expanding community health knowledge,
behaviors, and beliefs; and supporting individuals, families, and
communities in achieving optimal health. In addition to
programmatic duties, the Health Educator Senior provides leadership
within the Population Health Department by supporting team
development and fostering a culture of coaching and continuous
improvement. This role models collaborative leadership, mentors
staff in health education best practices, and promotes an
environment where learning, reflection, and shared problem?solving
are core to daily work. The role contributes to shaping
division?wide approaches to equity and health promotion, ensuring
that staff are supported, empowered, and equipped to deliver
high?quality, community?centered public health services.
Characteristic duties include: • Establishing program goals,
objectives, and evaluation plans • Preparing and submitting grant
applications and progress reports • Delivering evidence based
health education programs and trainings • Developing, revising, and
culturally adapting educational materials • Conducting community
needs assessments and using data to guide programming • Providing
technical assistance to community partners on health education and
program planning • Supervising Health Educators and supporting
professional development • Collecting program specific data and
producing reports • Supporting community organizing and capacity
building efforts The Health Educator Senior will work primarily at
the Chesterfield Health Department, however regular travel within
the health district is required. Typical work hours will be
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with occasional evenings and
weekends. This is a restricted position which is solely funded by
Federal CDC grant funds ending 09/30/2027. The availability of
funding is scheduled for review annually and periodically
thereafter. Employment is contingent on the continued availability
of grant or non-general funds. This position offers a competitive

Qualifications • Knowledge of public health principles; health
education and health promotion theories; community health
assessment; program planning and evaluation; policy and systems
change; and community organizing • Skills in designing,
implementing, and evaluating health education programs; conducting
needs assessments; developing educational materials; public
speaking; group facilitation; and writing reports and grants •
Ability to work independently, set priorities, solve problems, and
make data informed decisions • Ability to communicate effectively
in writing and verbally; build strong relationships with diverse
community groups; and collaborate across sectors • Ability to
maintain confidentiality and adhere to information security
policies Additional Considerations • Bilingual English/Spanish •
Experience engaging community members in both large and small group
settings • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with culturally
diverse populations and apply culturally responsive practices •
Experience supervising staff • Comfort with learning and using new
software platforms (e.g., Unite Us, FindHelp) Special Instructions
