Job Description Job Description Job Description We are seeking entry?level Cable Technicians to support large?scale structured cabling projects inside a major data center environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with construction, telecom, or general hands?on experience who want to break into the telecommunications and data center industry. Technicians will work alongside senior team members to learn cabling on a grand scale, including fiber, copper, pathways, and rack builds. What You’ll Do • Install cable trays, pathways, and supporting infrastructure • Pull Cat5/Cat6 cable and fiber throughout the data center • Drop cable using fish tape and route through designated pathways • Perform pre?termination tasks: dressing, organizing, forming, and labeling cables • Suspend and support cables using trays, J?hooks, D?rings, bridal rings, and trapeze hangers • Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cabling • Perform fire?stopping procedures and install sleeves for penetrations • Assist with learning cable terminations and low?voltage device installs • Build and install server racks and equipment frames • Follow construction drawings and prints to complete work accurately • Complete necessary paperwork, documentation, and material tracking • Follow all safety requirements on an active construction site • Support additional duties as assigned by the project team What You Bring • Any telecom, low?voltage, or cabling experience (tray installs, pulling cable/fiber, punchdowns, terminations) • Experience working with hand tools in a construction or technical environment • Ability to follow blueprints, diagrams, and build instructions • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills • Comfort working on ladders and at heights • Dependability, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to evolving project needs Nice to Have • Prior structured cabling experience • Exposure to fiber or copper terminations • Experience in large construction environments Why Apply? • Great opportunity to enter the telecommunications and data center industry with little to no prior cabling experience • Learn high?demand cabling skills directly from experienced Level 2 and Level 3 technicians • Hands?on exposure to fiber, copper, pathways, infrastructure builds, and rack installations • Opportunity to work inside a massive data center environment with long?term growth potential • This experience can open pathways into roles such as Data Center Technician • Strong project pipeline with consistent work and opportunities for overtime Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Sandston, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
