approach to innovation. Northrop Grumman is seeking a
highly-motivated Network Communications Technician to join our
Suffolk, VA STRAP team supporting US Air Forces Central (AFCENT)
and US. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) customers. The
successful candidate will be experienced in the design,
configuration, testing, installation, deployment, documentation,
and optimization of network infrastructure. Relevant components for
these customers include LAN, WAN, VoIP, QoS, Cisco
routers/switches, SolarWinds and Kiwi CatTools. Candidate will
design and thoroughly test unique solutions in a collaborative team
environment, for which there may be no precedent, prior to
deployment to meet customer needs. This individual will also work
problem identification and root cause analysis. This environment
includes problem report management and resolution tracking of
issues on the enterprise and working with service providers and
support personnel for outage resolution. This position may require
periodic on-call duty scheduling. Travel will be required
periodically (25%) to support the dynamic requirements in the
military's theater of operations for short periods (2-3 weeks). The
candidate must meet and continually maintain Department of Defense
travel/deployment requirements consisting of comprehensive medical
(physical, mental, dental, etc.) examinations and required
immunizations as a condition of employment. Basic Qualifications: A
Bachelor's degree with at least 2+ years of hands-on experience
with network devices such as Cisco routers, switches and firewalls.
(OR a total of4+ years of relevant work experience with an
Associate's degree). An additional 4+ years of relevant work
experiencemaybe substituted in lieu of the educational
Must have knowledge of IP dynamic routing (specifically EIGRP),
static routing, route redistribution principles and configuration
in an enterprise environment.
Must have a familiarity with Microsoft Office suite to include
Visio/Excel/ PowerPoint/Project to prepare and modify engineering
documents and drawings.
Must have current CompTIA Security+ certification.
Must be able to pass a medical physical.
Must be able and willing to travel overseas, as needed by
Must have a current/active Secret security clearance (or active
within the past 2 years).
Must be able obtain a favorable adjudicated CBP Background
Investigation (BI). Preferred Qualifications: CCNA certification.
Experience implementing DISA STIGs.
Cisco TAC resolution experience.
Experience with the following network technologies: IPsec over GRE,
SNMP, SSH, TACACS+, AAA, port-security.
Experience with Packet Capture Tools (Sniffers), such as
ServiceDesk Plus experience. Sensor experience, especially radar.
Radar digitizer and radar format converter experience.
Familiarity with XML, API and KML. Northrop Grumman is committed to
