Responsibilities

Cyber Security and Information Assurance Specialist

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Serves as the team lead to support the analysis of general information assurance-related technical problems and provides recommendations and technical support in solving these problems. Manage, lead, and oversea A&A team responsible for RMF processing and authorizations.

Qualifications

GENERAL DUTIES: Support Director, Navy Cybersecurity Division and other stakeholders efforts to improve cybersecurity and resiliency through the implementation of technical standards and the development, acquisition and deployment of solutions to threats. Provide oversight on shipboard capability enhancements, Navy enclave modernization and sustainment efforts, and newly emerging technologies. Enhance Navy cyber security on afloat platforms by reducing the surface of vulnerability. Participate in and provide insight into processes and activities that serve to improve cyber security readiness. Provide oversight on the overall installation and operational status of cyber security systems and the various component module versions and upgrades. Participate in required discussions, working groups, and advisory groups to monitor and assess Fleet operational cyber security status. Participate in required discussions to support policy, architecture, and readiness regarding enhancement of Navy cyber security. Provide situational awareness of C5I modernization efforts as aligned with the OFRP. Review the requirements and provide oversight of Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) program compliance. Act as co-chair of VRAM Change Advisory Board (CAB). Develop and provide cyber security artifacts that identify key communication themes and messages to enhance awareness of cyber security requirements and capabilities. Act as the Navys Endpoint Security (currently Host Based Security System (HBSS)) and Scan/Patch/Scan (currently Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)) action officer.

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Education (L3,2,1): Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems, Information Security, Cyber Security, or related discipline. Certifications: (L3,2,1) This position is classified as a Cyber Security Work Force (CSWF) position at IAM Level II as described in the DoD 8570.1-M. Upon request of the Command Information Assurance Manager (IAM), the Contractor shall provide documentation supporting their CSWF status. The Contractor and his/her supervisor shall ensure the Contractor maintains certification status in accordance with DoD 8570.01M throughout the life of this order. Acceptable certifications for this position are at least one (1) of the following: CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Leadership Certification (GSLC), Certified Information system Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). Experience:o L3: At least Eleven (11) to Fifteen (15) years experience in performing Navy Information Assurance and cybersecurity functions to include at least five (5) years direct experience with RMF and its related components and instructions.o L2: At least Five (5) to Ten (10) years experience in performing Navy Information Assurance and cybersecurity functions to include at least one (1) year direct experience with RMF and its related components and instructions.o L1: At least One (1) to Four (4) years experience in performing Navy Information Assurance and cybersecurity functions to include at least one (1) year direct experience with RMF and its related components and instructions.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS: TS/SCI clearance required (a current SSBI within the five-year scope).
