- You will develop, plan, and identify requirements on the
DODIN-N network to ensure availability of funds and resources to

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of
retired military members within 180 days immediately following

final Top Secret/SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity
Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as
described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 322 within 12
months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including
marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be
rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or
pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc
telework at the discretion of management.
- This position is in the excepted service and does not confer
knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for
immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have
been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly
demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular
competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to
successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is
typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be

and monitors network capacity and performance.

demonstrating this competency include: Provides technical advisory,
liaison and support services in support of systems engineering,
technical meeting, enterprise architecture, and collaboration
across the Department of Defense.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas
or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account
the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical,
sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral
presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and
responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this
competency include: Provides Enterprise-wide staff direction and
operational coordination for the Department of Defense Information
- Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and
relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and
evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related
experience demonstrating this competency include: Diagnoses and
resolves network problems, and develops network backup and recovery
Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:
- Utilizing networking systems engineering, architecture, network
security engineering, and developing system integration/designs of
network solutions for the Defense Information Networks-Navy
- Establishing or developing authoritative doctrine to include
instructions, operating procedures and other
- Utilizing security and network devices including Cisco/Juniper
routers and switches, Palo Alto Networks, McAfee, Sidewinder, and
F5 Networks for network monitoring.
- Utilizing networking systems such as: Local Area Networks
(LAN)/Base Area Networks (BAN), Wireless LAN (WLAN), Wide Area
Networks (WAN), and Cloud architectures, Network Transport
technologies such as Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) and
high-speed optical transport, Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF),
Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Computer Network Defense (CND),
Enterprise Firewalls, and Security Information and Event Management
- Providing technical advice, guidance and recommendations on
critical application issues at all levels of management as well as
to both technical and non-technical audiences.
