Our business helps support their way of life and contributes to the survival of a culture that has thrived in a challenging environment.Job Summary:The Engineering Technician III is responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance, and testing, of electrical and electronics equipment. This person must be able to perform assignments with little supervision after receiving initial instruction, equipment requirements and direction from his/her supervisor as needed and must be able to work independently afterwards. Constructs components, sub-units, simple models, and adapts standard equipment. Troubleshoots and corrects malfunctions. Conduct various tests and experiments, which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement; selects, sets up, and operates standard test equipment and records test data.Responsibilities:Serves as task leader for system installations, integrations, engineering upgrades, and testing prehend and execute tasking of moderate to high complexity with little to no prehension and hands on application of NAVSEA installation standards and Military Specifications for shipboard C4ISR systems terpret technical drawings or publications in order to execute a specific task.Quickly adapt and understand new system installations through independent study, research, and comprehension.Knowledge of connector fabrication, soldering, cableway or telecommunications training such as BICSI, 3M, IPC, or NAVSEA instructions.Travel to job sites as required by the PM and IAW the Joint Federal Travel Regulations (JFTR).Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Preferred - Associates Degree in Engineering/Electronics Technology, and or formal electronics training from a Class A or C military school in electronics or communications.High School diploma or equivalent.Two (2) to Four (4) years of experience working with C4ISR and or C5ISR Systems.Ability to use a computer (email, basic office applications).Strong soft skills / work ethics (communication, dependability, flexibility, time management, team player).Shipboard installation or maintenance experience.Familiarity and competence with hand tools.Ability to gain and maintain access to shipyards and government facilities as required by contract.Ability to work in a shipboard environment.Works well within a team environment.Must be a US citizen.Work Environment and Physical Demands:Applicants also must be willing to work more than 40 hour workweeks.Ability to work in a shipboard industrial environment.Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
