Doctor of Medicine | Maternal-Fetal Medicine Location: Midlothian, VA Employer: AAS Locum Tenens Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician for locum tenens coverage in Midlothian, Virginia. This position supports a high-volume MFM practice with a strong focus on high-risk pregnancies, providing both clinic and inpatient care. Schedule & Call Coverage Clinic Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:15 PM Weekday Call: Nightly call coverage Weekend Call: 24-hour call coverage Weekend Requirements: Yes On-Call Requirements: Weekdays and weekends Clinical Details Average Scheduled Patients per Day: 27 High-Risk Pregnancy Volume: 95% Low-Risk Pregnancy Volume: 5% Nursery Level: Level III EMR: Epic, Viewpoint Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive care for high-risk obstetric patients in office and inpatient settings Perform consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and longitudinal management of complex maternal and fetal conditions Collaborate with OB/GYNs, neonatology, nursing, and interdisciplinary care teams Participate in call coverage for urgent and emergent MFM needs Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EMR Required Skills & Procedures Amniocentesis Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS) Cerclage (preferred) Management of high-risk conditions including: Pre-eclampsia and hypertension Multiple gestations Fetal growth restriction Chromosomal, congenital, and genetic abnormalities Pre-term labor Thrombophilia and genetic disorders Birth defects and complex maternal/fetal comorbidities Experience with vaginal and cesarean deliveries in high-risk settings Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine Completion of an accredited MFM fellowship Active Virginia medical license BLS certification AIUM certification Midlothian offers a suburban lifestyle just outside Richmond with excellent schools, modern amenities, and convenient access to top-tier healthcare facilities.
