Role Overview: Physician — PRN, Virginia Beach, VA Legacy Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician to join the team on a PRN (as?needed) basis in Virginia Beach, VA. The successful clinician will provide comprehensive primary and acute medical care to residents in post?acute and long?term care facilities across the Virginia Beach area. This PRN role requires adaptability to variable schedules, strong clinical judgement, and a commitment to person?centered, evidence?based practice. Core responsibilities include resident assessment, diagnosis, treatment, medication management, interdisciplinary collaboration and participation in quality improvement activities. Benefits — Physician, PRN Flexible PRN schedule designed to support clinical autonomy and work–life balance Competitive compensation commensurate with experience — Daily Rate, W2 Clinical autonomy with support from a collaborative interdisciplinary team Full clinical and administrative support from Legacy Care, including streamlined credentialing and in?house billing Opportunities for professional development within an independent medical group Medical malpractice coverage provided Key Responsibilities — Physician, Post?Acute Care Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans for residents in post?acute and long?term care settings Diagnose, treat and manage acute and chronic medical conditions consistent with current evidence?based practice Provide medication management, including review of polypharmacy and coordination of medication reconciliation Respond promptly to acute changes in condition, initiate timely interventions and coordinate transfers of care when necessary Collaborate with nursing staff, advanced practice clinicians, therapists, social workers and facility leadership to deliver holistic, person?centered care Participate in facility rounds, care?planning meetings and interdisciplinary case conferences Document clinical encounters accurately and promptly in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Support medication safety initiatives, including antimicrobial and antipsychotic stewardship Provide clinical consultation and education to facility staff and medical colleagues on complex clinical issues and best practices Maintain professional standards of practice, including infection control, documentation and regulatory compliance Essential Qualifications and Skills — Physician, Virginia Beach VA Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution Active and unrestricted Virginia medical license Board certification or eligibility in an appropriate specialty (for example family medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics) preferred Clinical experience in post?acute care, long?term care, geriatrics or related settings preferred Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems and clinical documentation Strong clinical judgement, interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams Commitment to patient?centered care, cultural sensitivity and ethical practice Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Life Support (ACLS) preferred where applicable Why Join Legacy Care in Virginia Beach, VA?
