We are seeking committed, skilled professionals to provide essential healthcare services across VA facilities in Virginia. This role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to contribute to our nation's heroes while enjoying competitive pay and comprehensive benefits. In this vital position, you will perform one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension examinations and Separation Health Assessments, primarily conducting interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments. You will utilize your expertise to support Veterans through efficient, respectful, and thorough assessments, ensuring they receive the care and recognition they deserve. Required Skills: Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia. Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or related fields. Strong assessment and interview skills. Ability to perform physical examinations such as range of motion testing and muscle strength testing. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently in a clinic setting. Nice to Have Skills: Prior experience with VA or military-related exams. Familiarity with Compensation & Pension assessment processes. Certification in specific areas such as orthopedic or musculoskeletal evaluation. Experience working with government or military healthcare systems. Preferred Education and Experience: Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or higher. Minimum of 2 years' clinical practice as a Nurse Practitioner. Prior experience conducting non-treatment exams or assessments for Veterans preferred. Other Requirements: Own office setup (local candidates only). Ability to work on a PRN basis with flexible scheduling. Willingness to perform assessments at various VA locations in Virginia, with travel included. Completion of required training and credentialing. Must adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
