Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Physical Therapist - Discipline: Therapy - Start Date: 02/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with acute care experience and a current state license for a hospital-based position serving patients of all ages. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work is based in an acute care hospital setting with coverage for all age groups - Assignments include both inpatient and outpatient populations and may involve work at off-site community locations - Therapists typically manage a caseload of approximately 10 patients with a requirement of at least 16 treatment units per 8-hour day - Schedules are 8-hour day shifts, typically 8:00am–4:30pm, with flexibility for earlier or later clock-in/out and the possibility of weekend work to offset weekdays - Patient care responsibilities include initial and ongoing assessments and skilled therapeutic interventions - Duties include evaluating, planning, and implementing therapy services consistent with state laws, professional standards, and facility policy - Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized goals and optimize outcomes - Conduct necessary pre-certification and authorization processes for patient treatment - Monitor patient response and modify plans of care as appropriate - Participate in patient education, discharge planning, and recommendations for assistive equipment - Opportunities to act as a fitness/wellness instructor for community programs may be available - Participation in clinical education and continuing professional development is expected - Pass/fail EKG testing required on the first day of assignment, with up to two attempts allowed and study guides provided - Scrub attire or appropriate dress code is required during clinical duties - Local candidates will be considered at a reduced rate /n /n Requirements/n - Current Physical Therapy license in the state of Ohio required, or VA license if applicable - Active BLS certification required - Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program required - Two years of recent acute care physical therapy experience preferred - Ability to provide care for adolescent, adult, geriatric, and pediatric populations as needed - Specialty certification (e.g. OCS, SCS, NDT, Lymphedema, Women’s Health) preferred - Strong communication and collaboration skills required - Must meet the 50-mile radius rule for eligibility /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-663915.
