City/State Suffolk, VA Work Shift Rotating Overview: Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring Registered Nurses for the Operating room in Suffolk, VA! This is a Flexi/PRN with rotating hours and will float between Obici and BelleHarbour locations. Ideal candidates will have completed a PeriOp 101 course or have experience in scrub or circulator roles in an Operating Room. Call requirements vary, flexible scheduling. About the department: Sentara Obici Hospital is a recognized Primary Stroke Center and Magnet hospital, with an average of 5,000 cases per year. The 40-person team supports seven operating rooms, and performs a diverse range of procedures including general, ortho, podiatry, vascular, GYN, spine, and plastics, utilizing advanced systems like DaVinci robotic technology. The team, comprising RNs, surgical assistants, surgical technologists and OR techs, works across Obici and Bell Harbor hospitals, with opportunities to assist in Obstetrics as needed. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
