Your Opportunity IT Compliance department is looking for Data Privacy Expert to implement privacy framework and lead data privacy reviews to ensure systems comply with applicable privacy regulations. In this role, the individual will work closely with IT, Business and Delivery leads to learn about new products and partner with legal, security teams to identify potential privacy challenges and drive towards consensus-based risk mitigation solutions. A successful candidate will have substantive experience working on privacy issues in the technology and consumer packaged goods industry as well as strong interpersonal and project management skills.
Core Responsibilities Define and document privacy program requirements, set priorities and establish scope for defining the privacy roadmap, annual privacy initiatives and privacy auditsMaintain records of data processing activities, data protection impact assessments to demonstrate compliance with applicable data protection lawsFacilitate the fulfillment of data subject and consumer rights requests (access, deletion, do not sell, etc.) for applicable regulations including CCPA and GDPRLead the implementation of technology to support the privacy program including data mapping and asset inventories, management of data subject requests, enablement of website cookie banners and preferences for eCommerce websitesRecommend implement corrective action plans for privacy compliance violations and work with owners for remediationLead the development of privacy and compliance related policies and procedures, participate in review and enforcement of policiesSupport business education and training efforts related to Privacy and CompliancePerform other duties as assigned/required by the IT Compliance Director The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Policy, Political Science, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years' experience working on data privacy issues in the technology industry preferably in the consumer packaged goods industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.5+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership is required.Exposure to privacy policies, regulations, privacy or technology law, policy, and programsExperience in conducting Privacy Impact Assessments involving privacy regulated data that is collected, assess privacy risk, prioritize gaps, and provide results via a Privacy Impact Assessment Scorecard for leadership and executive managementExperience in privacy controls testing, issue management and remediationStrong command of the primary data privacy principles and solid foundational understanding of key industry leading regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, CPRA etc.Ability to define data privacy standards and data handling procedures that integrate with key business processes.Experience working with cross functional leaders and legal department to ensure customer facing privacy notice(s), consent language and cookie usage policy align with internal business practices as well as privacy laws of the state and countryProven ability to address privacy issues, incidents, and inquiries from data subjects and to respond to them with a high degree of certainty and comprehension.Candidates with one or more privacy certifications preferred (e.g., CIPT, CIPP, CIPM, CDPSE)Strong organization, communication and project management skills, ability to work on multiple projects, ability to develop continuous improvement mindset.Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to present complex regulatory requirements to leaders and team members.Smithfield is an equal opportunity employer committed to workplace diversity.
