Job Description:
Your OpportunityA Smithfield Foods' Technical Accounting Manager
is responsible for establishing and maintaining global accounting
policies and serves as a key technical resource for complex
accounting requirements and implementation of new accounting
standards and updates. This position reports to the Director,
Financial Reporting.
$10,000 Sign-On Bonus!!!!
Salary Range $94,000 - $138,050 Core Responsibilities
Research and document accounting treatment for complex accounting
matters
Establish, maintain and communicate robust global accounting and
other business policies.
Act as subject matter expert to educate accounting/finance
personnel and other business leaders to build and enhance awareness
of various accounting requirements.
Gain in-depth understanding of the company's operations, business
strategies and processes.
Partner with Internal Audit and ICFR teams to monitor business for
compliance with GAAP and the company's global accounting
policies.
Evaluate and summarize implications of accounting standards
updates.
Coordinate and lead implementation of accounting standards
updates.
Assist and coordinate with external audit on annual audit and
interim reviews.
Assist with other accounting and financial reporting needs.
Other ad hoc projects as needed.

perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or
university in Accounting or related field and 5 years of relevant
experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience,
required.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a position of leadership to
include team development and management, required.
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License
4 years of experience of relevant experience in audit / compliance;
Big 4 Audit background is desired
Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Demonstrated strong analytical and project management skills.
Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and
concisely, in both written and verbal formats
High level of written and oral communication skills, organizational
planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability
Ability to work within tight deadlines and to handle competing
priorities effectively.
Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic
environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the
organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training
employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising
performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing
complaints and resolving problems.
