Due to our strong recent growth in pupil enrolment, Ipswich High School seeks to appoint a suitably experienced, collaborative and dynamic Director of Teaching and Learning with effect from August or September 2023.DetailLocated on an idyllic 87-acre campus on the banks of the River Orwell, Ipswich High School enjoys an enviable reputation of delivering outstanding academic results whilst maintaining a warm, welcoming and happy community of approximately 500 pupils, aged 3-18. As the Director of Teaching and Learning , you will help ensure all our Year 7-13 pupils (currently totaling approximately 350 pupils) are inspired, challenged and supported to achieve outstanding academic progress.As a school we are seeking someone with a clear passion and expertise for learning, innovation, research and improving outcomes for students. The successful candidate will be joining a school to work alongside colleagues who are dedicated, have immense pride in the school and are deeply passionate about the young people in their care. The post holder will be given significant scope to define the learning experiences of all our students and the role would therefore suit someone who combines strong pedagogical understanding with energy and drive and who is seeking a working environment where they are encouraged to contribute ideas and innovation as well as demonstrating positive impactful change across the school.This role will be well-suited to an individual with aspirations towards headship within the next five years. A willingness to contribute to the wide co-curricular and community activity of a day and boarding school situated in this beautiful part of the UK is essential.Please note that, although we welcome candidates with experience of working in boarding schools, the successful applicant will not be required to complete any boarding duties.
