Virginia Beach, Virginia, Arlington, Virginia or Hanover, Maryland!
The candidate in this role will provide technical expertise and
leadership to our team of highly skilled engineers, while leading
tasks/projects simultaneously and applying technical knowledge and
expertise to develop the team’s overall capabilities. Projects will
include water/wastewater engineering, investigations, studies,
analysis, designs, and construction administration services. Role
description: Arcadis is looking for a Water Wastewater Project
Engineer to join our growing team in Virginia Beach, Virginia! The
candidate in this role will provide technical expertise and
leadership to our team of highly skilled engineers, while leading
tasks/projects simultaneously and applying technical knowledge and
expertise to develop the team’s overall capabilities. Projects will
include water/wastewater engineering, investigations, studies,
analysis, designs, and construction administration services. Role
accountabilities: The Water Wastewater Project Engineer will
evaluate, plan, design, permit and support management of projects
for water/wastewater and conveyance (pipelines, treatment, and
pumping facilities). Other projects may include asset management,
distribution system improvement projects, hydraulic modeling,
conveyance-related construction projects, pump station
rehabilitation, gravity sewer main rehabilitation construction
projects, inflow and infiltration assessment and reduction
programs, water treatment and reclamation. In addition, this role
may support professional engineering services during construction:
construction observation, review of shop drawings, responses to
request for information (RFIs) and permit closeouts. This role
involves successful execution of water and wastewater projects
throughout planning, design, and construction phases. This includes
overseeing the development of design calculations, technical report
sections, technical design drawings, and specifications to ensure
accurate implementation of project requirements. Moreover, a key
aspect of the role is to support the preparation of reports,
presentations, and other audio-visual materials while actively
participating in client meetings to foster effective client
communication and project alignment. Ensuring project compliance
with all Arcadis practices and maintaining quality, health, and
safety standards are paramount responsibilities. Facilitating
coordination for timely project completion within budget
constraints is essential to meet project milestones successfully.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a
team setting is needed, with a readiness to engage in collaboration
with team members located across different geographical locations.
Additionally, supervising and supporting the work of others, as
well as mentoring junior-level engineering and design/drafting
staff, are fundamental aspects of this position to uphold project
standards and foster professional development within the team. The
job may require some travel for project site visits, client
meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes, or overseeing
construction activities based on project staffing needs. This
dynamic and multifaceted role necessitates adaptability, strong
leadership skills, and a dedicated commitment to ensuring the
successful delivery of water and wastewater projects in adherence
to industry best practices and standards. Qualifications &
Experience: Required Qualifications 5 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or a related
field of study. Professional Engineering (PE) License or ability to
obtain in 6 months Preferred Qualifications 8 years of relevant
water/wastewater experience. PE License. Experience in design or
consulting engineering or Municipal work environment. Project task
leadership experience including managing overall project delivery
expectations, prioritizing tasks, and mentoring. Active
participation in regional and/or national professional

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $152,000/year.
Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as
experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and
