Job Description:
The Department of English and Foreign Languages requests
consideration for posting and filling a FT faculty member position
on a temporary basis, for one year, to begin in August 2024 and to
conclude in May of 2025. Requirements: This position will serve a
large student population at Norfolk State University, and
encompasses the teaching of General Education courses and
discipline-specific courses that are supportable by faculty
credentials. The role requires office hours and engaging students
for campus assessment activities such as the HEIGHTEN Test and QEP.
Use of Blackboard, the Learning Management System for Norfolk State
University, is required. This position will also require one
submission, between Fall and Spring semesters, of a small portfolio
of supporting documents about classroom content and techniques.
Preferred Requirements: Ph.D. in English, English Studies, American
Studies, or closely related field is preferred. Applicants are
encouraged to indicate their interest in using literature in the
composition classroom on their applications.
