Job Description Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in
School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1
years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do
not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A school
psychologist is needed for elementary school settings within the
Virginia Beach area, serving Chesapeake Public Schools. This
contract assignment runs from January 5, 2026, through June 16,
2026, covering the current school year. The position offers
flexibility for full-time or part-time availability, with school
hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Key Responsibilities: - Administer
psychological testing and evaluations for elementary-aged students.
- Participate actively in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD),
re-evaluation, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and school staff to support
student academic and emotional development. - Manage caseloads that
vary by assignment; caseload specifics are currently under review.
- Adhere to state regulations and maintain active Department of
Education certification. Qualifications: - Valid state licensure as
a school psychologist. - Active Department of Education
certification specific to school psychology. - Open to candidates
new to the profession as well as experienced psychologists. -
Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred. -
Demonstrated ability to conduct psychological assessments and
contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings. Location: Virginia
