Job Description:
The Client Associate II provides administrative support to the
Trust Advisors and/or the Client Advisors within Wealth Management.
Position Accountabilities Serve as primary contact for clients.
Handles or refers client questions and complaints to the
appropriate advisor. Performs account administration duties as
assigned by the Trust Advisor and/or Client Advisor. Analyze wills,
trust indentures, agency and custodial agreements, court orders or
other legal documents. Use internal checklists to extract required
information to open and close accounts on the trust accounting
system. Ensure proper transfer and booking of all account assets.
Ensure receipt of all appropriate legal documentation. Determine
the various elements comprising an estate’s assets and allocate to
appropriate categories for filing inventory with the court. Prepare
documentation to be filed when account qualifies as fiduciary in
the appropriate clerk’s office. Use state-mandated list and other
instructions to prepare all documentation for presentation of
Commissioner of Accounts. Monitor daily cash balances of income and
principal. Ensure the prompt payment of bills, remittances, taxes,
etc. Monitor fees to assure that they are being calculated and
charged correctly. Prepare cash flow analysis and/or prepare and
implement the annual budget for each account. Identify cross-sell
opportunities and refer customers to other lines of business within
the Financial Guidance Group and the B Handle customer requests
such as opening deposit accounts and performing maintenance. Assist
advisor in the preparation of client presentation materials.
Accompany the advisor on sales calls when needed. Respond to
telephone inquiries from customers and makes sound decisions
related to the release of information and/or funds. Ensure
confidentiality is maintained as needed. Perform various
administrative duties including preparing correspondence, filing,
typing, distributing mail and faxes. Research information as
requested. Maintain files, logs and databases, ensuring that
information is complete and accurate. Performs other duties as
assigned. Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations governing
bank operations, including compliance with Atlantic Union
Bankshares’ BSA/AML Policy and Procedures. Organizational
Relationship This position reports to the Support Services Manager.
Position Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree or
equivalent work experience. Five to seven years of experience with
trust and estate laws and regulations and bank product knowledge.
Successful completion of two external Trust related classes.
Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of trust accounting systems and common
assets characteristics. Working knowledge of bookkeeping, general
accounting/tax principles and aspects of fiduciary law. High degree
of professionalism. Proficient computer skills relevant to
Microsoft Office Suites. Excellent written and verbal communication
skills. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability
to handle multiple tasks. Flexible, able to adapt to change.
Superior interpersonal and customer service skills. Attention to
detail. Good organizational and time management skills. Salary
offered will be based on several factors including but not limited
to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Th is position
is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive
compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit
